Josh Norman Wants to Know Why He Was Fined $25K & Cam Newton Wasn’t For Comments About Refs (Video)
On Saturday, Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman found out he was being fined $25,000 by the league for his comments about officials. The comments came during Norman’s press conference following their week 8 game in London against the Cincinnati Bengals, which resulted in a tie.
“Norman: “Who is official 88? I’ve gotta know. You suck. I’m just putting it out there.” Goes on long list of questionable calls.”
“We play a physical game, they know that.We come here international game, it all goes out the window. …he needs to be reprimanded”
Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton was also critical of officials after their game against the Arizona Cardinals, stating he doesn’t feel safe out there anymore as he is taking many hits from players well after the ball has been thrown.
“The story of my life ever since I came in is, ‘Oh well, we missed that one. I’m sorry. I’ll try to get it.’ That’s bullcrap,” Newton said, via the Charlotte Observer. “As players in this league, if we do something stupid, we get fined. … I just can’t keep accepting, ‘Oh, we missed that one.’ Or ‘I apologize for doing that.’ Or ‘I didn’t see it.’ That’s horsecrap.”
In a segment discussing Cam Newton, former teammate Josh Norman wanted to get Roger Goodell’s number from Cam, since the meeting they had resulted in a non-fine for him, yet he was fined anyway for doing the same thing as Cam.
