Mayweather on Conor McGregor: ‘Don’t Compare Me With Him. Elephants Don’t Beef With Ants’ (Video)
A couple months back, retired boxer Floyd Mayweather and UFC star Conor McGregor were going back and forth for weeks on a potential fight between the two, and of course nothing ever happened. Both are the king of trash talking when it comes to their respective sports, and that’s exactly where Mayweather wants the comparisons to stop between them.
While speaking with TMZ, Mayweather said he thinks it’s quite disrespectful to compare them as they are on a different level financially, among other things.
“I think that it’s time for – Conor McGregor needs to go out there and do what he do,” said Mayweather. “But never compare Conor McGregor to me. That’s a total disrespect. Once again, I’m an elephant. Elephant don’t beef with ants. Elephant is so large he don’t even see ants.”
“I didn’t know Conor McGregor was undefeated,” said Mayweather. “I didn’t know that he had a reign in MMA for 20 years undefeated and was world champion in five different weight classes. That’s something I didn’t know. So I guess you guys are telling me something new if you say he’s the Floyd Mayweather of MMA.
“I’m trying to find out, ‘have you ever made $300 million in one night? Have you ever made $100 million in one night? Have you ever made $70 million in one night?’ … It’s okay to say it, but it’s not true.”
