Colin Kaepernick’s ‘Million Dollar Pledge’ to Charities Reaches $200K

Back in September, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick said he planned on donating $100,000 per month over the next year to programs he’s currently reviewing, with those distributions posted on a website he was currently building.

On Friday, Kaepernick followed through on that $1 million pledge to support communities when he announced his donations have reached $200,000.

“We have to continue to keep making steps toward real change! I promised I would donate a million dollars to organizations working in oppressed communities and we’re now in the second month of the Million Dollar Pledge! 100k a Month for 10 Months. Go to to see the organizations that I have donated to that are helping steer that change in the right direction. “I for one believe that if you give people a thorough understanding of what confronts them and the basic causes that produce it, they’ll create their own program, and when the people create a program, you get action.” – Malcolm X”

Between October and November, Kaepernick has donated to eight different charities all over the United States, giving $25,000 to each of them.
