Washington Redskins v Dallas Cowboys

Fighting against a controversial election and the constant coverage of San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the National Anthem in protest, the NFL was suffering from a ratings drop unlike any other football season.

One thing fans around the league couldn’t stand more than anything else were the constant commercials every few plays.  Fans would rather see highlights online than see 45 minutes worth of commercials during a single game.

On Thanksgiving Thursday, the NFL as well as Fox Sports got the ratings boost they needed when the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys took the field at AT&T Stadium, resulting in the most watched game in Fox Sports HISTORY.
