Alan Thicke, who died yesterday at the age of 69, wasn’t just a beloved actor, known for his role on Growing Pains.  He was also an accomplished songwriter and renowned hockey player. In fact, he actually passed away due to a heart attack he suffered while playing hockey with his son.

So it’s no surprise that hockey players of all generations turned out to offer their condolences and pay their respects to a fellow player and fan of the game:

He was obviously a beloved figure in the game and will be missed by fans and non-fans alike.
