Students Raise Trump Signs, Turn Their Backs at Black Players During HS B-Ball Game (Video)
A predominantly white school in Missouri had to apologize after someone held up a Donald Trump campaign sign and everybody proceeded to turn their backs during player introductions for an all-black Kansas City basketball team.
The Warrensburg school district apologized on its official Facebook page Tuesday, stating they would make sure similar incidents such as these will never happen again.
“Warrensburg officials were forced to apologize on Tuesday after the video was posted online and started to go viral.
Some of the student and parents from Center High said they were offended by the incident and called it racially insensitive.
The school district said on its official Facebook page that it would try to prevent similar incidents happening in the future.”
Warrensburg superintendent Scott Patrick had this to say:
‘I think in this case, (the Trump sign) was really the difference in what took this from something that was unsportsmanlike to something that was insensitive, not necessary and inappropriate,’ Patrick said.
