Joe Mixon: ‘It’s Never Okay To Retaliate And Hit a Woman.’ (Video)
Last week, a 2014 video surfaced showing Oklahoma Sooners running back Joe Mixon walking into a a Pickleman’s sandwich shop and violently striking a fellow female student after she hit him twice.
After so much heavy backlash for the violent manner in which he handled the young lady, leaving her with broken bones in her face, Mixon decided to speak for the first time on Friday about that video.
“I’m here to basically apologize to Ms. Molitor. I apologize to Coach Stoops. I apologize to President (David) Boren, the AD (Joe Castiglione), my teammates, and most of all my family. I let a lot of people down,” Mixon told the media.
“It’s never, never OK to retaliate and hit a woman the way I did. I’m here to apologize to everybody that was affected.
“Every day I gotta live with it, gotta sleep with it. It haunts me to this day. If I could take it all back I would,” said the sophomore.
“If I could go back, I would do whatever I could to change the outcome of that situation. Definitely would have walked or ran away. It really don’t matter what she did that night. It’s all on me … I take full responsibility on what happened that night. Everyday I gotta live with it, gotta sleep with it. It haunts me to this day. If I could take it all back I would.”
