The Redskins Have Reportedly Fired Almost EVERYBODY on Their Defensive Coaching Staff

by: Darrelle Lincoln On  Thursday, January 5, 2017

New York Giants v Washington Redskins

After missing the playoffs during the last game of the season, The Washington Redskins announced on Thursday they were getting rid of four members of their defensive coaching staff, including defensive coordinator Joe Barry.

Defensive line coach Robb Akey, defensive backs coach Perry Fewell, and head strength and conditioning coach Mike Clark were also dismissed.

Initial reports and rumors stated everybody on the defensive staff would be job-less this week, however, linebackers coaches Greg Manusky and Kirk Olivadotti, defensive quality control coach Chad Grimm, and assistant defensive backs coach Aubrey Pleasant were all retained.

The Redskins defense ranked 28th in the league this year and they only managed to hold opponents under 20 points twice throughout the entire year.
