Report: Carmelo Would Waive His No-Trade Clause to Only Play With LeBron or CP3
Heading into his mid-30’s, New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony sees the light at the end of the tunnel and he knows his career will end without a ring if he stays in New York
Melo has made a ton of money during his NBA career and it looks like he finally wants to accomplish something most of his peers have come close to or already accomplished.
His no-trade clause stops the Knicks from sending him to another terrible franchise, but according to Charley Rosen who is close to Phil Jackson, Melo is willing to waive to go to two teams only.
“CARMELO ANTHONY’s legs are going, going, almost gone. As ever, he’s still a dangerous scorer but resists any offensive game plan that limits his one-on-one adventures. Moreover, his sticky fingers causes whatever ball-and-player movement is in effect to come to a grinding stop.
Since Melo has been mostly shooting blanks in the clutch it’s really a dead stop.
Also, while he’s never been accused of playing defense, Anthony is intent on saving even more steps on this end of the game to conserve his energy for offense.
Carmelo is four months away from his 33rd birthday, his contract is humongous and contains a no-trade clause. It’s understood that he’d only accept being dealt to the Cavaliers or the Clippers.”
Melo may want the Clippers or Cavaliers, but do they want him? The Knicks are currently 18-22 and in 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
