Derek Carr May Have Helped the Police Find a Missing Boy (Tweet)

If you’re wondering what the real benefit is to having tons of Twitter followers…it might just be your ability to fight crime. Oakland QB Derek Carr apparently gave the Oakland Police a helping hand as they tweeted out the notice of a missing 3-year-old boy.

Carr retweeted the notice.  Then, shortly thereafter, the boy was found. I’m not sure what the connection was, but Oakland PD fired off a thank-you to Carr in their follow-up tweet.

The person who called the police reportedly saw an Amber Alert, not Carr’s tweet, but the PD thanked him anyway:
