Blake Griffin Set to Produce a ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ Reboot
It’s been about 25 years since the original Wesley Snipes-Woody Harrelson comedy hit theaters, so naturally, it’s time to reboot White Men Can’t Jump.
News comes via The Hollywood Reporter that Black-ish creator Kenya Barris is teaming with the LA Clippers’ Blake Griffin and the Carolina Panthers’ Ryan Kalil to update the film for today’s audiences.
Barris will be writing the script.
Kalil and Griffin are working on a ton of new projects under their Mortal Media banner, including an updated version of The Rocketeer, who’s both black and female. No word if Blake Griffin will star in the White Men Can’t Jump reboot, or appear in any capacity, but given that it’s a movie about dunking…probably?
No release date yet for the film, so it’s probably a couple years off at this point.
