Tito Ortiz Needed Just Two Minutes to Get Revenge on Chael Sonnen at Bellator 170 (Video)
Last week Chael Sonnen, the Godfather of MMA trash talk, dropped a pretty sick burn on Tito Ortiz. Unfortunately for Sonnen, Ortiz got his revenge in the octagon.
“Tito always says I’m using my mouth to get my opportunities,” Sonnen said during the press conference ahead of his fight against Ortiz at Bellator 170. “The only person that I know that made money using their mouth was his ex-wife.”
For those not in the know, Ortiz’s ex-wife is adult film legend Jenna Jameson. So that was a reference to…you know.
The dig didn’t bother Jameson, who said Sonnen was only stating the obvious.
First dumb thing I’ve heard Chael say… it’s like stating the sky is blue and expecting that to be a revelation https://t.co/ZecRIAlNaH

However, Sonnen’s dig really bothered Ortiz. And the UFC Hall of Famer got revenge in the Octagon, putting Sonnen into a rear naked choke a minute-and-a-half into the first round. And he held on for a few extra seconds, even after he’d earned the submission victory.

Afterward Ortiz said Sonnen’s trash talk crossed a line and demanded a public apology.
“I didn’t say anything after the fight. He came to my dressing room and said, ‘Good fight, it was an honor, da da da’ and I go, ‘You’ve got to apologize to me in public.’ So we’re gonna see if he has enough balls to apologize to me in public.”
“I’m a kid who has a lot of respect,” Ortiz explained. “I believe in respect. Talking about another person’s family is something wrong to do and for what he did, that’s just the wrong thing to do. That’s always my three rules of s**t-talking: You don’t talk about a person’s family, you don’t talk about a person’s country, and you don’t lie about a person. He did all three of those things, and the big man upstairs took care of it.”
I guess the lesson here is, don’t talk trash about Tito Ortiz’s personal life.
