Mayweather on Possible McGregor Fight: “Let’s Give the Fans What They Want to See” (Video)
On Saturday UFC superstar Conor McGregor said his UFC career is on hold indefinitely as he focuses all his efforts on fighting Floyd Mayweather.

Of course, McGregor had already said he was taking a six-month hiatus from the UFC while he awaits the birth of his first child, so his statement doesn’t actually change anything with regard to the UFC. But it certainly escalates the hype about a possible McGregor-Mayweather fight.
So what did Floyd have to say about this? Well, he was on hand for Frampton vs. Santa Cruz II in Vegas on Saturday night, so naturally Showtime’s Jim Gray made sure to ask him about it. While Mayweather stopped short of saying that he thought the fight would actually happen, he did say rather enthusiastically that he wants to fight McGregor.

Does any of this talk make a fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd “Money” Mayweather more likely to happen? Not really. The only thing that can make the fight more likely to happen is an absolutely obscene amount of money. Until somebody comes forward with that—and no, Dana White‘s $25 million offer does not qualify —we’ll just have to live with the Punch-Out version.
