Braves Infielder Sean Rodriguez, His Wife, and Their Two Kids Nearly Killed in Terrifying Car Crash (Video)
Atlanta Braves infielder Sean Rodriguez and his family were involved in an absolutely terrifying car crash in Miami on Saturday.
Rodriguez, his wife, and their two children ages 2 and 8 were driving along in their black Chevrolet Suburban when they plowed into a police cruiser that had cut in front of them. The cruiser had just been stolen from a nearby restaurant and was speeding off when it was t-boned by Rodriguez. The suspect died in the crash.
Rodriguez appears to have escaped uninjured. His wife and children were taken to the hospital. As of Monday the children were in serious but stable condition, while his wife was in stable condition.
Given what the vehicles looked like after the crash, Rodriguez and his family are very lucky to still be alive.
According to TMZ, a good samaritan saw the crash and helped pull Rodriguez’s family from the wreckage. Video of the wreckage shows bystanders trying to put out the flames with a garden hose.
That Atlanta Braves signed Rodriguez to a two-year, $11.5 million contract on November 30. On Monday they posted an official statement on Twitter.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the health and well-being of Sean Rodriguez and his family as they recover from a car accident in Miami.
