Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry is arguably Under Armour’s biggest athlete, so it was only natural that he was asked to respond to the comments Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank made when he called President Donald Trump an ‘asset’ to the country.

“I agree with that description,” Curry said, “if you remove the ‘et’” from the word asset.

Curry went on to say that Plank explained to him privately that the connection with Trump was purely from a business perspective, and not at all an endorsement of his more controversial policies.

Curry stated he would cut ties with Under Armour if they no longer reflect his values.

“If I can say the leadership is not in line with my core values, then there is no amount of money, there is no platform I wouldn’t jump off if it wasn’t in line with who I am,” he said. “So that’s a decision I will make every single day when I wake up. If something is not in line with what I’m about, then, yeah, I definitely need to take a stance in that respect.”
