Legendary NWA rapper Ice Cube and his new BIG3 basketball league have been making some exciting announcements over the past few weeks with each former NBA player signing up to play on his new upstart 3-on-3 league.

On Wednesday, they announced former Portland Trail Blazers teammates Jermaine O’Neal & Bonzi Wells would be signing up to coach a team and fill out the roster.

“6x NBA All-Star Jermaine O’Neal will return to the court this summer in the inagural season of the BIG3. Alongside Bonzi Wells, he will Captain the team TRI-STATE.

In the upcoming BIG3 Combine, the two men will work together to select 3 additional players to fill out the team. In the BIG3, there are no outside owners, so O’Neal and Wells will guide the formation of the team along with their coach.”

The star studded cast of former NBA players that have signed on include: Allen Iverson, Chauncey Billups, Gary Payton, Kenyon Martin, Stephen Jackson, Jermaine O’Neal, Rashard Lewis, Jason Williams, Bonzi Wells, Mike Bibby, George “The Iceman” Gervin, Ricky Davis, Al Harrington, Rick Barry, Rick Mahorn, Clyde Drexler, Kenny Anderson, Jamario Moon, Smush Parker, Ruben Patterson and Etan Thomas. Payton, Gervin, Barry, Mahorn and Drexler will serve as coaches, with Iverson serving as a player/coach—the rest are confirmed to play.

The season will tip off on Saturday, June 24, with games taking place every Saturday in a different arena and city across the country—with all eight teams playing on the same day in the same venue.
