Anonymous NFL GM Says He Wouldn’t Sign Darrelle Revis ‘For Free’
Oh, how the once mighty have fallen so hard.
Former New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis went from one of the premiere CB’s in the league with ‘Revis Island’ to his island becoming a must-visit, all inclusive destination vacation spot for opposing WR’s.
Now the 31-year-old cornerback is a free agent and isn’t finding too many teams that could use his ever declining skills.
“Have you seen his tape?” an NFL general manager said, via the New York Daily News. “I wouldn’t let him play for me for free.”
Another NFL executive agreed with that assessment.
“Revis is done,” the executive said. “You respect the body of work throughout his career, but all good things come to an end.
Revis has already went on record as stating that he wants at least $8 million from any team that signs him this offseason. Unfortunately for him, that’s probably not going to happen. The seven-time Pro Bowler is currently dealing with legal troubles stemming from a fight on a Pittsburgh street corner last month and teams don’t want that type of distraction.
