Report: Pierre Garcon Expected To Sign With 49ers, Earn $16M In 1st Year
Free-agent wideout Pierre Garcon is expected to cash in as he is slated to sign with the San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.

That’s a huge amount of cash for a player who’s not even in the top-20 at his position. The 49ers are one of the few teams that have nearly $100 million in salary cap room to play with entering free agency, and Pierre was a top target as he fits in well with new head coach Kyle Shanahan and his offense.
Garcon had his best year under Shanahan as the offensive coordinator in 2013, when he led the league with 113 receptions and added 1,346 yards. Garcon will turn 31 in the summer and is coming off a season where he caught 79 passes for 1,041 and three touchdowns.
