Even the most dedicated hockey fans will admit that sitting around for 8 hours and 35 minutes to see a winner crowned sounds like a painful way to spend a day.

And if that’s tough on the fans, just imagine how rough it would be on the players. During this playoff game from Norway’s pro hockey league, Storhamar took down Sparta thanks to a late, late, late goal from Joakim Jensen.

Remarkably, the game ended only 2-1 despite a shot tally of 96-93. The game ended at 2:30 AM local time, and there were still a LOT of people in attendance. Credit where credit is due—those fans are die-hards.

Here’s the goal that finally ended the game.

It’s thought to be the longest match in professional hockey history, which sounds about right.
