Wisconsin’s Nigel Hayes Not Happy To Be In NYC: ‘It’s Dirty, Trash Everywhere’
Last week, Wisconsin Badgers star Nigel Hayes proved he could come up big in the bright lights at he helped his squad defeat Villanova and get into the Sweet 16.
Hayes isn’t so worried about the bright lights in New York as they get set to play the Florida Gators on Friday at Madison Square Garden.
“I don’t really like New York,” Hayes said Thursday, according to the New York Daily News’ Kevin Armstrong. “It’s too big, it’s dirty, trash everywhere, too many people. It’s cold right now.”
“I guess it’s nice to look at in the movies,” Hayes added. “But I’ve had my fair share. I’m just trying to come here and win some basketball games.”
Hayes acknowledge’s his opinion of the area could drastically change if he just so happens to be drafted by the New York Knicks or Brooklyn Nets.
“You’d have no choice,” the prospective NBA draft pick said. “Something you have to live with.”
