Sidney Crosby Slices Through Sabres Defense and Scores One-Handed Goal, Because He’s Sidney Crosby (Video)
Sidney Crosby Chops Off Tip of Marc Methot’s Finger with Two-Handed Slash (Video)
Sidney Crosby is apparently a mob enforcer now, because he chopped a guy’s finger off in Ottawa on Thursday night.
With five minutes remaining in the first period between the Senators and Penguins, Ottawa defenseman Marc Methot carried the puck over the blue line into the Penguins zone and dumped it into the corner. As he was doing so, Crosby reached out and whacked him with a two-handed slash on the left glove.
The slash didn’t look particularly vicious. It looked like the kind of thing you see dozens of times every single game. However, when Methot took his glove off after having a little discussion with Crosby, he made a grisly discovery. The tip of his pinkie finger had been chopped off and was dangling by a piece of skin.
Here’s video of the play:
And here’s a screenshot of Methot’s mangled finger:
Initially the Senators were calling that a “laceration.”

But after the game Senators coach Guy Boucher told reporters Methot’s finger was “shattered” and that he would be “out for weeks.”

This is the second time this week Sidney Crosby has made headlines for his illicit stick work. On Tuesday in Buffalo he did this to Ryan O’Reilly:
