REPORT: Donald Trump Could Throw Out First Pitch at Washington Nationals Opening Day
The Washington Nationals are about to embark on a move that could make them the most beloved team in America to some, and the most hated team in America to (many) others.
According to reports from Politico, the Nats are in discussions with President Donald Trump to have the POTUS throw out the first pitch at their Opening Day game against the Miami Marlins on April 3. Trump would also reportedly join the Nats’ broadcast crew for the first inning of the game.
Despite all of these rumblings, the Washington Nationals are still refusing to comment on the matter, according to the Washington Post‘s Chelsea Janes:
Have asked Nationals about POTUS throwing out Opening Day first pitch, as Politico reports he might. As of Monday, were unwilling to comment

As controversial as Trump may be at the moment, presidents throwing out first pitches is a long-established tradition in the baseball world. So we expect this to happen, regardless of team’s or players’ political views.
