Huge Fan Brawl Breaks Out at McDonald’s All-American Game (Video)

A brawl broke out among fans at the McDonald’s All-American Game in Chicago on Wednesday, and if not for quick action by United Center security and the Chicago PD things could easily have spiralled out of control.

It’s unclear what sparked the violence, which errupted in the 300-level concourse soon after the final buzzer. The Chicago Sun-Times obtained video of the mayhem and counted about 12 people throwing haymakers and throwing each other around. The quality of the video is low, and it was shot in portrait mode which makes it hard to see everything that’s happening. But the quality is good enough to see that, if security hadn’t intervened, things could have gotten pretty ugly.

Take a look:

The McDonald’s All-American Game is the premier high school basketball all-star game in the country, generally featuring most if not all of the top college and NBA prospects. With players like Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Shaquille O’Neal, Vince Carter, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Kevin Durant among the alumni, fans show up every year knowing they are probably watching future All-Stars and Hall of Famers.

Unfortunately, nobody told these fans the game is also supposed to be fun.
