REPORT: Patriots Signed Off On Rob Gronkowski’s WrestleMania Cameo

by: Darrelle Lincoln On  Monday, April 3, 2017

This may be very hard to believe, but the New England Patriots actually signed off on TE Rob Gronkowski participating at Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando on Sunday. I couldn’t even imagine head coach Bill Belichick signing off on anything related to being fun, but it happened.

- Ask for Von Miller money: Get Cut

- Ask to participate in wrestling event: Cool

Before Gronk jumped in the ring on Sunday to avenge his friend, he reportedly spoke to the Patriots about it and they were cool with it, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Gronk has never been the prototypical Patriots player, and he’s never been one to do it the ‘Patriot way.’  Regardless of that fact, he delivers whenever he’s on the field.

He missed a big portion of the 2016 season with a back injury and all of the playoffs, including the Super Bowl, but he’s stated he’ll be ‘ready to roll’ for the start of the Patriots’ offseason program.
