Retired Cubs Catcher David Ross Does Magic Mike Routine on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ (Video)
The Chicago Cubs’ miraculous World Series run had a lot of great subplots. One of them was veteran catcher David Ross, a.k.a. Grandpa Rossy. A veteran leader beloved by teammates and fans alike, Ross had announced prior to the playoffs that he would be retiring at the end of the season. Then he went out and hit two postseason home runs, including a solo shot off Cleveland’s ace reliever Andrew Miller in the sixth inning of Game 7. Talk about a great way to end a journeyman’s career.
So what’s Grandpa Rossy up to these days? He’s taking part in season 24 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, of course, where he’s now survived three full weeks.
In week 1 he performed in a bedazzled Cubs uniform:

In week 2 he was breakdancing in zubanz:

However, neither of those routines prepared us for Grandpa Rossy’s performance in week 3, a Magic Mike-themed number in which the former major league catcher performs a lap dance for partner Lindsay Arnold, then strips off his shirtless tuxedo to reveal a six-pack bodysuit underneath.
Yes, really. Take a look:

I think Ross’ former Cubs teammate Anthony Rizzo said it best:

Tune in next Monday to see what David Ross has in store for us in week 4. Or maybe don’t.
