Last night against the Phoenix Suns, OKC Thunder guard Russell Westbrook was attempting to make history by passing Oscar Robertson for most triple-doubles in a season.

He shot horribly on the night, going 6 for 25 from the field, and OKC were pretty much never close to actually winning the game. Needing just two assists to complete the feat, Westbrook went full pass-mode in the last minutes of the 4th quarter in an attempt to obtain that triple-double, but his teammates weren’t knocking down shots.

After the game, Westbrook was asked if he was purposely trying to pad assists in order to get that triple-double:
