Tiger Woods, Others React to Sergio Garcia Winning The Masters (TWEETS)

Sergio Garcia Win Masters

He did it!!!

After several close calls, Sergio Garcia finally has that elusive major championship after beating Justin Rose in a playoff at the 2017 Masters Tournament.

Garcia entered the final round tied for the lead with Rose at 6-under par.  He took an early lead with birdies on two of his first three holes, but after birdies by Rose on the sixth, seventh, and eighth, and boogies by Garcia on the 10th and 11th, the Spaniard found himself two strokes back of the Englishman.

But this eagle on the par-5 15th put him even with Rose once again at 9-under:

Garcia parred the next two holes while Rose recorded a birdie and a boogey, sending them to the 18th still tied at 9-under. And after Rose missed his seven-foot birdie attempt, Garcia had this five-footer left for a birdie and the win:

Aaaaaand, he missed. The 2017 Masters would be decided in a playoff.

At that point, many probably thought we were headed for another Sergio Garcia meltdown, but that was not the case.

Sergio pulled it together and birdied the opening hole of the playoff while Rose boogied, giving Garcia the Green Jacket and his first ever major championship:

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here.

After Sergio was officially crowned Masters champion, his fans and peers wasted little time taking to Twitter to congratulate the 37-year-old on his big accomplishment.

Leading the way was a rather unlikely individual, as Tiger Woods sent his notorious foe a congratulatory tweet:

Here are some of the other reactions from fellow golfers and fans across the Twitterverse:
