Bettor Turns $60 into $41,000 with Unbelievable Rickie Fowler-Sergio Garcia Parlay (Pic)
Correctly picking the outcome of one golf tournament is difficult. Correctly picking the outcomes of two golf tournaments in a row is almost impossible. But according to Bovada, it happened.
The offshore sportsbook says one lucky gambler put $60 on a two-outcome parlay a couple weeks back, meaning both outcomes had to occur in order to win the bet. The first outcome was Rickie Fowler winning the Honda Classic. The second was Sergio Garcia winning the Masters.
Neither pick on its own was insane. The odds of Fowler winning the Honda Classic two weekends ago were 16/1. The odds of Garcia winning the Masters were 40/1. But put them together and the odds were about 680/1.
Sure enough, Fowler won the Honda Classic two weekends ago, then Garcia went and won the Masters in a playoff, winning the bettor a whopping $41,773.92.

That is pretty awesome. Let’s just hope the person who made this bet didn’t have a heart attack and die when Sergio Garcia missed that easy putt on 18 to force a playoff:
