The Dallas Mavericks were out of playoff contention heading into last night’s season finale against the Nuggets, so most of the excitement surrounding the game had to do with former NFL QB Tony Romo’s presence on the Mavs’ bench.

Taking things one step further, Mark Cuban had Romo approach Mavs coach Rick Carlisle with two minutes left to jokingly ask to be subbed in.

And you know what? It looked like it was going to happen for a second!

Unfortunately, it was also Cuban who blinked in this game of chicken with Carlisle, pulling Romo back as it looked like the coach was actually going to illegally put him in the game. Because, hey, why not, right?
