Ottawa Senators Get a Little Too Cocky on Twitter, Get Slapped Around by Harvard Stats Collective (Tweets)
Last night, the social media manager for the Ottawa Senators left his team with a little explaining to do after posting a dumb little tweet about how the Bruins failed to get a shot on goal in the second period.
Reaching out to the “advanced stat community,” the Senators jokingly asked if that was bad.
It IS bad, but not as bad as losing the game entirely, which is what happened to Ottawa, by a score of 2-1.
The Bruins failed to record a shot on goal in the second period.
Can someone in the advanced stat community tell us if that is good?

The advanced stat community can confirm that losing Game 1 2-1 negatively impacts a teams chances of winning a series https://t.co/0vgxuEKdhM

Thank goodness those eggheads at Harvard were able to crunch the numbers and give us an answer.
Meanwhile, the Twitter guy for Ottawa should probably be put on bed rest. I’m sure he’s very fragile.
