Marine Who Lost Leg in Combat Runs Entire Boston Marathon Holding American Flag (VIDEO)
Running the Boston Marathon is not easy for anyone to do, but doing it with a prosthetic leg while holding an American flag has to be grueling, yet inspiring at the same time.
Staff Sergeant Jose Luis Sanchez did just that on Monday at the 121st Boston Marathon. Luis lost the lower part of his leg after stepping on an IED in Afghanistan in 2011.
Sanchez ran the race as part of Team Semper Fi, and raised money for the Semper Fi Fund. The organization provides financial assistance and support to families impacted by 9/11, as well as wounded military members and their families.
