I don’t care how many times this happens, it will never get old.

This past weekend, Staff Sergeant Matthew Hawke wanted to see his family after being away for a long time, but he wanted to surprise them in the best way possible.

After a 10-month tour in Afghanistan—”where he had been serving with G Company 2-104th GSAG, also known as Task Force Nightmare,” per Steve Beideck of Omaha.com—Hawke showed up to the Nebraska Cornhuskers spring game in full uniform and took the field with the team and met his wife and kids (who were in attendance for an honorary coin toss) at midfield.
