REPORT: Aaron Hernandez Lawyer Claims Death Could Be Murder, Not Suicide
Many sports fans woke up this morning to the surprising news that convicted murderer and former New England Patriots tight end, Aaron Hernandez, had committed suicide in his jail cell after hanging himself with a bed sheet. But despite the fact that this appears to be a suicide to most, Hernandez’s lawyer, Jose Baez, is not entirely convinced.
We’ve learned attorney Jose Baez — who just got a not guilty verdict for Aaron last week in the double murder case — has launched an investigation on behalf of Hernandez family and they are not buying the suicide story.
We’re told Baez believes this could be a murder either by inmates or the folks who run the prison.
While it may seem a little far-fetched, murder is not exactly out of the question. Hernangez was serving a life sentence at the maximum security Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Massachusetts after being convicted for the murder of Odin Lloyd.
He certainly had a lot of enemies thanks to his violent past and gang-related activities, but whether or not that caused someone to kill Hernandez in his jail cell and stage it like a suicide remains to be seen.
