Donald Trump Didn’t Mention BFF Tom Brady Once During the Patriots’ White House Visit (Video)
Sounds like President Trump was not too happy that his good friend Tom Brady bailed on the New England Patriots’ White House visit at the last minute.
During his campaign Trump mentioned the fact that he and Brady are friends every time he passed through New England, and on numerous occasions he’s called Brady the greatest quarterback who’s ever lived. In fact, just days before the election, Trump said Tom Brady called to tell him he had his vote.
However, during his 10 minute speech during the Pats’ White House visit, Trump didn’t mention Brady one time.
Trump talked about team owner Robert Kraft at length. Trump retold the story about how he asked Bill Belichick if he could read his endorsement letter at a New England rally, and Belichick responded by writing him an even better endorsement letter. Trump called out numerous Patriots players by name, including Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman. But Trump did not say anything about the greatest quarterback of all time once.
Watch the entire 15 minute video if you don’t believe me.
Tom Brady’s cited “personal family matters” as the reason he was unable to join his teammates at the White House, by which he probably meant “Gisele will kill me if I go.”
But regardless of the reason, his no-show is just the latest instance of Brady distancing himself from the president. Back in November he denied giving Trump permission to say that he was voting for him, and in January he said being someone’s friend doesn’t mean you agree with everything they say.
Will Tommy and Donny work things out and stay friends? Or was Tommy’s no-show the straw that broke the camel’s back? Only Time will tell.
