Bucks Troll Raptors by Playing Barney Theme During Player Intros (Video)
The Milwaukee Bucks destroyed the Toronto Raptors 104-77 on Thursday to take a two games to one lead in their first round playoff series. And they may have their game operations crew to thank for it.
The actual players did well. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 19 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while Khris Middleton had 20 points, three rebounds, and seven assists. But to understand why the Raptors’ played so terribly, you have to start before the game. During the visiting player intros, the Bucks game ops crew played the Barney theme song. And judging from how the Raptors played, the stunt really got in their heads.

Of course, some Raptors fans were quick to point out that a team named after a deer is probably in no position to make fun of another team’s mascot.

But really, the burn works on a couple of levels. Not only does the song make fun of the Raptors’ original purple uniforms and cartoon dinosaur logo, which only Raptors fans who grew up in the 90s seem to like. It also suggests the Raptors are soft and doughy and nothing to be afraid of. And on Thursday, at least, that was absolutely true. The Raptors were awful.
Well played, Bucks.
