Members of The ‘We Believe’ Warriors Invited To Playoff Game To Celebrate 10 Year Anniversary
This is incredibly dope.
Hard to believe, but it’s been ten years since the 8th-seeded Golden State Warriors knocked out the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the opening round of the playoffs—the third time such a thing had happened—in six games in 2007.
According to Daniel Mano from The Mercury News, key members of that ‘We Believe’ Warriors squad have been invited to attend an upcoming playoff game at Oracle Arena to receive an anniversary ovation.
Matt Barnes is already a member of the current Warriors team, while Baron Davis, Al Harrington, Jason Richardson, and Stephen Jackson have all reportedly received invitations.
“That is unbelievable,” Jackson told KNBR. “I just got that text message too and I couldn’t reply quick enough. I can’t wait to be there, to be in that playoff atmosphere. It was some special time. I think the Bay is still rockin’ from when we played there, and for them to honor us 10 years later … it’s exciting. It’s going to be good to have all the guys back together in that arena.”
“I hope they get a championship, because if Matt is able to get a championship with this team, it feels like we all won,” said Jackson.
