Former #1 Overall Draft Pick Anthony Bennett Released By Turkish Club
Anthony Bennett may go down as the biggest bust in NBA history…and overseas history, too.
The power forward was reportedly cut by pro Turkish club Fenerbahce during their postseason run, reports Bugra Uzar of Eurohoops.net.
Bennett averaged just 1.3 points per game in nine EuroLeague games, while averaging nine points and 6.4 rebounds in 23 minutes in the playoffs. But the team still elected to cut him so that they could sign another former NBA player.
Just 24-years-old, Bennett finds himself out of the NBA after being drafted #1 overall in the 2013 NBA Draft. During his time in the league, he played for four different squads: the Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Toronto Raptors, and Brooklyn Nets.
