Pirates’ Jameson Taillon Undergoes Surgery for Suspected Testicular Cancer (Tweet)
In a short period of time, Pirates pitcher Jameson Taillon went from noticing an abnormal growth on his body to consulting with a doctor over the weekend, to undergoing surgery yesterday for what doctors believe is a cancerous growth on his testicle.
While the results of the surgery aren’t yet known, it’s not thought that the procedure itself will keep Taillon out beyond his placement on the 10-day disabled list.
He wrote to his fans on Twitter about this ordeal, comparing it to others he’s faced:

Next steps will be dictated by what the doctor’s found and the success of the procedure, so keep Jameson in your thoughts and wish the guy the best during what must be a difficult time.
