Draymond Green is a very good and effective basketball player. But he is not very well-liked, what with all the kicking and flopping.

The latest example of Green flopping came during Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals between the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs on Monday. Early in the second quarter, Green took an arm to the face from the Spurs’ Jonathon Simmons. It was an obvious foul, and nobody would have blamed Green if he’d done something subtle to attract the referee’s attention.

However, Draymond doesn’t do subtlety. So instead of simply jerking his head back, or turning around and putting his hand on his face, Draymond dialled the theatrics up to 10, flopping backwards and falling on the floor.

The good news for Draymond is that his flop didn’t just earn a foul. It also earned him an Oscar for Outstanding Achievement in Flopping, courtesy of the geniuses at SportsClaymation.com.

The Flopenant was a good film. Nice to see Draymond finally get recognized for his work.
