It wasn’t that long ago when UFC president Dana White announced that Conor McGregor was all set to face retired boxer Floyd Mayweather and they were simply waiting for Floyd’s team to sign the deal on their end to make it happen.
“The McGregor side is done,” “I’m starting to work on the Mayweather side now.
“I’m not saying the fight will happen, but I’ve got one side done. Now it’s time to work on the other. If we can come to a deal with Haymon and Mayweather, the fight’s gonna happen.”
Now, Boxing promoter Bob Arum claims Manny Pacquiao is willing to step into the ring with Conor McGregor if Mayweather decides not to sign the long-rumored fight deal.
“If McGregor is still looking for an opponent, Manny Pacquiao is there.”
Arum also offered up some advice to Dana White about how to go about negotiating the McGregor-Mayweather fight.
“Be patient. Don’t give in,” he said. “Dana’s a good negotiator, and he’ll get the thing done, but he can’t be pushed around by Mayweather and his people.”
