Report: Eric Thames Gets 5th ‘Random’ Drug Test After Hitting 1st HR In 15 Games
Back in April, Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Eric Thames was the only bright spot for the team at the time, as their record sat at 12-12 through 24 games. Thames had blasted 11 home runs in just 22 games played and because of that, he received three random drug tests in ten days and was hit with another following another game.
Wednesday night, Thames broke out of a home run slump, which began three weeks ago and spanned 15 games and 64 plate appearances, by hitting a two-run shot against the New York Mets.
Following that game, he received his 5th random drug test of the season.
So, Eric Thames hits first HR in three weeks and is randomly drug tested after the game. He thinks it’s funny but doesn’t think it’s random.

In 2011, Thames hit 12 HR’s and then followed that up with 9 the next season. Someone is clearly watching him closely.
