FINALLY!

After 22 years, ESPN pulled the opening Monday Night Football song during the 2011 season following controversial comments from Hank Williams Jr. in regards to president Barack Obama and Republican House speaker John Boehner—regarding their meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“I’m sure there’ll be some (backlash), but I’m not concerned,” ESPN senior vice president Stephanie Druley said of Williams’ return. “It was the right time. We discussed it internally and it was just the right time to bring him back.”

This upcoming season, Hank Williams will be bringing his rowdy friends back to ESPN, finally replacing Carrie Underwood.

“Are you ready for some football?”
