Markelle Fultz Says He Thought About Signing With ‘Big Baller Brand But He Didn’t Want To Be Broke
The rivalry between Markelle Fulz and LaVar Ball continues to heat up as the NBA Draft gets closer and closer. But that competition on the court actually could have turned into a mutual business partnership as well.
Prior to singing an endorsement deal with Nike, Fultz stated he actually debated signing with the Ball family’s Big Baller Brand, according to The Washington Post.
“I was thinking about it, but then I would make (LaVar, Lonzo’s father) money,” explained Fultz.
His hesitation to sign stems from the way he was raised to how LaVar Ball seems to handle business by being a loud-mouth and turning people off with his antics and attitude.
That difference was described by Fultz’s mother, Ebony, as an “upbringing kind of thing.”
“I was raised to be respectful, cordial, not loud,” said Ebony.
