New York Newspapers Roast Phil Jackson After Knicks Fire Him

Four straight playoff-less seasons and terrible records weren’t enough for owner James Dolan to get rid of team President Phil Jackson. It was Jackson’s willingness to just trade away Kristaps Porzingis because he didn’t attend an exit meeting that ultimately earned Phil his walking papers.

On Wednesday, it was confirmed. On Thursday, it was time to have some fun. New York newspapers roasted Jackson, with the best one coming from Metro with the simple headline “Bye Phil-icia,” along with the record he produced while team President.
