Trail Blazers Win Internet with Hilarious Tweets Welcoming “Cash Consideration” to RIP City (Tweets)

The Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers rocked the sports world on Wednesday with the first major trade of what looks to be a totally bonkers NBA offseason. The Rockets got superstar point guard Chris Paul. The Clippers got Sam Dekker, Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley, DeAndre Ligins, Darrun Hilliard, Montrezel Harrell, Kyle Wiltjer, a 2018 first round pick, and $661,000.

Quite understandably, this monster deal dominated the NBA news cycle. However, it wasn’t the only transaction completed on Wednesday.

The Portland Trail Blazers made a deal with the Rockets, too. They sent seldom-used guard Tim Quarterman to Houston for cash considerations. Then their social media team struck gold with a pair of hilarious tweets welcoming “cash considerations” to RIP City.

Take a look:

Whoever runs the Blazers’ Twitter account deserves a raise. If it’s just a bunch of interns, start paying them. Because that right there is Twitter gold.

I mean, you have to feel a little bad for…hold on while I scroll up and look up the guy’s name again…oh yeah, Tim Quarterman. But once they had the idea to tweet a pic of a sack of cash holding a press conference, they had to do it.

Well played, Trail Blazers. Well played.
