The LaVar Ball Family Reality Show Is Actually Happening
Earlier this year, it was reported that LaVar Ball was looking to further capitalize on his family’s brand by getting a TV series, much like the Kardashians.
“TMZ Sports has learned LaVar Ball is actively shopping various TV projects around town — including a reality show and a documentary.
We’re told Ball has already cut a trailer for the documentary which centers around his family of young basketball superstars. The reality show is still in the development phase.
One source close to LaVar tells us the projects are both part of the “Big Baller Media” brand — LaVar’s production company.
We’re told LaVar has been in talks with multiple outlets and has “several offers” but so far, no contracts have been signed.”
Four months later and it’s starting to become a reality. Deadline.com has reported that the Ball family has agreed to star in a docuseries, which is being produced by Facebook.
“The second project is a yet-to-be-titled docuseries about the Ball family, whose sons Lonzo, Liangelo and LaMelo have taken the basketball world by storm. Freshman UCLA star Lonzo Ball was chosen by the Los Angeles Lakers as their No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft last month. Liangelo and LaMelo are stand-outs at Chino Hills High School.
The number and length of episodes of both series is still to be determined.”
With the amount of attention this family gets—thanks in most part to LaVar Ball and they type of comments that he makes that seem to take over the airwaves and social media—it’s only right that someone would look to capitalize on this up-and-coming family.
