“She hasn’t told me she’s retiring,” White said in April, “but I don’t think she’s [coming back].”
Ronda Rousey & Her Fiancé Travis Browne Are A Combined 1-6 In The UFC After They Began Dating
Outside the Octagon, the relationship between UFC fighters Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne seems to be headed in the right direction. Inside of the octagon, both of their careers are fading fast. Really fast.
Over the weekend at UFC 213, Travis Browne was submitted in the second round by Russian fighter Oleksiy Oliynk—a loss that extended his losing streak to four. Now he’s being asked to retire by UFC president Dana White.
The couple went public with their relationship in October 2015, and while Browne won his next fight, he hasn’t won since then. Ronda Rousey was untouchable, until she ran into Holly Holm. It took her over a year to step back into the octagon following that loss, only to get dismantled by Amanda Nunes in 48 seconds last December.
“This is one of those sports, you never know. One minute you’re absolutely unbeatable and unstoppable, then the next minute you can’t win a fight,” White said after Browne’s loss at UFC 213.
“I think that Travis should retire.”
As far as Rousey goes, White surely hopes his cash cow doesn’t retire, but she also hasn’t informed him of anything.
