Miko Grimes Now Says Her Anti-Dolphins Twitter Rant Was Part of Master Plan to Get Her Husband Released by Team (Tweets)
Miko Grimes, wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Brent Grimes, would like you to believe that her infamous Twitter attack on Ryan Tannehill and the Miami Dolphins was all part of a master plan to get her husband released by the team.
For those of you who may have forgotten, on December 27, 2015, Grimes went on an epic Twitter rant against Tannehill, using lots of bad words and filthy metaphors to make the case that he was to blame for the Dolphins’ struggles.
Take a look:
Grimes was eventually released by the Dolphins in March 2016, and owner Stephen Ross confirmed that Miko’s Twitter rant was the reason.
Now, in a new interview with Sports Illustrated‘s Jack Dickey, Miko Grimes says her rant was specifically designed to get her husband released.
Here’s an excerpt:
According to Miko, the Dolphins had told Brent he had to take a pay cut; if he declined, they would wait until other teams used up all their cap space and then release him. (A Dolphins spokesman says that these discussions never happened.) At home, Brent said he’d sooner retire. But Miko wasn’t going to let that happen—instead she would get him run out of town by going “as wild as possible on social media.” Her version of what happened next: “[Brent] said, ‘Go for it.’ I got his full permission to be as disrespectful to the Dolphins as I wanted to be. And I threw in [Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill] because I don’t like him or his wife.”
Of course, there is just one pretty significant problem with Miko Grimes’ story. Namely, it can’t explain ALL THE OTHER CRAZY SHIT THIS WOMAN HAS SAID.
In January of 2015 she ripped the entire NFL. Was that part of a plan to get her husband kicked out of the league altogether?
Were all those tweets part of a master plan as well? Or is Miko Grimes just a f*%&ing nutjob?
I’m going with nutjob.
