Don’t look now, but Los Angeles Lakers fans are starting to make their way back to social media after disappearing for the last 4 years.

The Lakers won the 2017 NBA Summer-League Championship on Monday night by defeating the Portland Trailblazers, even without the help of star rookie Lonzo Ball (who won the 2017 NBA Summer League MVP).

It’s been a tough time for the once proud franchise, as they haven’t had a winning record since the 2012-2013 season.  But then a glimmer of hope shinned on the team when they drafted Ball and he shined throughout the summer league.

That was enough for Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson to declare that the Lakers are indeed back.

“It feels good. When (general manager Rob Pelinka) and I took over, when Jeanie Buss hired us, we strive for excellence. We talked about doing things the right way, we talked about winning, and building a winning tradition.

“It started with these young men tonight, winning the summer league. This has to carry over to our summer workouts, training camp, exhibition season, and then into next season.

“The Lakers are back!” Magic exclaimed to the delight of the pro-Lakers crowd.

Calm down, Magic.
