Stephen A. Smith Says McGregor Isn’t Racist For Calling Black People Monkeys: ‘He Isn’t Talking To Me’
Snoop Dogg Is Officially the Greatest MMA Announcer of All Time (Video)
UFC president Dana White recently launched a new show on UFC Fight Pass. It’s called Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, and each episode features five bouts between unsigned up-and-comers. If they do well, White signs them to a UFC contract. So it’s kind of like The Ultimate Fighter, only all fighting and no soap opera.
The best part about the show, however, is not watching scrappy underdogs realize their dreams. It’s the color commentary by none other than Snoop Dogg.
Since the show streams on the web, fans get to choose between the “traditional” commentary team and an “alternative” team made up of The Doggfather and UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber. And after Snoop’s performance on Tuesday’s episode, nobody is ever going to choose the traditional commentary again.
During the second fight of the night, 22-year-old bantamweight beanpole Sean O’Malley levelled opponent Alfred Khashakayan with a lightning right hook four minutes into the first round. Snoop Dogg’s call? Epic. Just epic. Poor Urijah Faber can barely even get a word in.
Have a look:
After the fight, Dana White rewarded O’Malley with a UFC contract. How did he celebrate? By smoking a blunt with Snoop and documenting it on his Snapchat:
The UFC needs to get Snoop to do “alternate commentary” for real UFC fights. That would drive pay-per-view sales through the roof.
